Why No More Slaves isn’t a charity

No More Slaves is our response to the global epidemic of human trafficking. We are a small, fun, creative start-up company. Our core purpose is to raise awareness about human trafficking, while at the same time creating a strong, sustainable, dynamic company that can invest financially into proactive solutions to trafficking.

We are not a charity, we are a company that is committed to ending trafficking. In my view, creating a company that is passionate about making a difference is a much more exciting proposition than starting a charity that relies on grants and donations to survive.

While charities rely on donors to keep going, a company has to find a way to solve it’s own problems. It has to be lean and agile and able to survive on its own whit and merit. I never want No More Slaves to rely donations. It has to stand on it’s own two feet and be profitable, self-priming, and self-sustaining.

We have a vision to create a company that will not only sustain itself, but will also be able to give out to other anti-trafficking projects because of our success. We didn’t want to  create another charity that would compete with existing organisations for donors - we want to be a donor!

I am convinced in the power of business with a conscience, and I have no doubt that No More Slaves can make a real and sustained difference to the lives of the victims of trafficking for a long time to come by embracing these ideals.
