Best of 2011: Process

Process can be a frustrating thing. I mean, who really wants to wait and work for their dreams to be fulfilled? Not me. I want it all and I want it now. I want to just close my eyes, click my heels and wake up in Kansas.

But success doesn’t come instantly, does it. Achieving your goals is going to involve failure, discovery, difficulty and joy, it’s going to take time and it’s going to take hard work. In other words, it’s going to be a process.

The reason process is so frustrating is because it’s the one thing that stands between you and your goal, but it is also the vehicle that will get you there. As slow and painful as it can be, doing what process demands of you is really the only way forward. It’s often when you stop looking for the short cuts and commit to going through the process that you finally begin to advance, one step at a time.
